Video clips of the controlled demolitions circulated widely on social media, creating a significant dust cloud. However, precautionary measures were taken to safeguard nearby multi-story structures within the IT Park.
Located in the heart of Hyderabad's Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy (Hitec) City, the IT Park hosts several major IT companies and a luxury hotel.
According to Mindspace, this demolition is part of a larger strategy to upgrade infrastructure and workspace within the Business Park. The removal of these buildings paves the way for a modern structure that will offer expansion and consolidation spaces. The new asset is projected to be completed by the third quarter of 2027.
Mindspace Business Parks REIT employed "implosion technology" for the controlled demolition of these two aging buildings, which had a history of approximately 18 years. This swift dismantling process clears the path for a sustainable, futuristic asset spanning approximately 1.6 million square feet. Edifice Engineering, in collaboration with Jet Demolition, a South African-based Engineering and Technology Partner, handled the implosion under the supervision of skilled professionals.
